About the NC200

The NC200 is a complete Chinese learning solution in the form of a portable electronic device. In addition to a suite of bilingual, bidirectional English-Chinese dictionaries, it provides interactive electronic multimedia courses covering Chinese characters, the Chinese phonetic system and alphabet, grammar, and pronunciation. The NC200 is not just limited to English and Chinese—it also includes dictionaries for French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.

While there are many other electronic Chinese-English dictionaries and language learning devices on the market, they are all designed for Chinese students learning English and lack many of the features that a learner of Chinese needs. The NC200, by contrast, is designed specifically with the student of Chinese in mind, and has many special features for the non-native speaker.

It has a full color touch screen that can be used with the included electronic pen to practice handwriting, and an intelligent engine that will grade the user on not only handwriting but also grammar, via interactive tests. The device allows the user to import any Chinese text file and view it on the device with pinyin and tone marks above each character, and separate words and phrases color coded by usage category—automatically.

Additionally, the NC200 also functions as a PDA and entertainment device: it includes a planner, calculator, and stopwatch, as well as MP3, video, and flash player, and even games. Learning Chinese has never been so much fun!
